Product Description

The Lowell CP84 is a recessed enclosure designed for 8 - inch speakers. Its backbox features an extended grille mounting flange, making it perfect for new construction. This flange safeguards the opening from plaster, poured concrete, or sheetrock. It's also a great choice for both new and existing construction when installed in suspended tile ceilings. Technical details include a welded heavy - gauge unitized steel body with a black finish. It has a diameter of 12.00 inches, a depth of 4.06 inches, and a volume of 0.266 cu.ft. The acoustical treatment consists of an undercoated foam pad. It comes with knockouts and clips for mounting and is suitable for screw - mount grilles. With an extended lip flange, it's made in the U.S.A. using certified U.S. steel.

Using the Lowell CP84 recessed enclosure for your 8 - inch speaker is quite straightforward. First, find a suitable location, whether it's in new construction or an existing suspended tile ceiling. Make sure the opening is the right size for the enclosure. When installing in new construction, the extended flange will help protect the opening from plaster, concrete, or sheetrock. Just attach the enclosure using the knockouts and clips provided. For the grille, use the screw - mount option. As for maintenance, keep it clean. Wipe it down with a dry cloth regularly. Since it's made of steel, avoid exposing it to excessive moisture to prevent rusting. If you notice any damage, like dents or scratches, address them promptly to ensure the best performance of your speaker.
